"Hey Lawdy Mama" is a song by rock band Steppenwolf. In 1970 it became a top 40 hit peaking at 35 on The Billboard Hot 100.[1] The tune was covered by punk rock group, The Minutemen, for their Project: Mersh EP.[2]
